Yew Club (Young Survivors)

Yew Club is a community for younger breast cancer patients and survivors. We provide social support and resources not only for the AYA (adolescent and young adult) community but also for those in their 40s and early 50s (AKA the “next level”) who still deal with unique circumstances during their diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship.

Our program focuses on mutual support through shared experiences, such as spa days, monthly “snack luck” gatherings, and other joyful outings throughout Portland. Our goal is to provide an opportunity for connection with others beyond a traditional support group. We want to take survivorship and healing out of the hospital and into real life.

Spaces for younger survivors are important for many reasons: we are a minority within the cancer space, we are more likely to be diagnosed at later stages with more aggressive cancers, and we have to face mortality and death at a time when our adult life is just beginning to bloom. Yew Club provides a container to process all of this and more, with age-specific programming in mind. We’ve got you!
