Creative Connections

Creative Connections

Creative Connections provides a time to explore how we can process the emotions and experiences of breast cancer through the creative process. This is a patient centered group and provides participants with time and space for self-care, stress release and an opportunity to connect with themselves and others in a meaningful way that combats isolation and builds resilience, self-esteem, community and promotes the body-mind connection.

There is a growing body of research on how art can be a useful tool in healing and coping with the complex emotions that arise with having breast cancer, including feelings of depression, anxiety, pain. Each of our monthly groups has a theme that is focused on such things as gratitude, transition, body image, finding inner joy and wisdom as well processing feelings of uncertainty, fear and grief. The end product is never the focus of these creations, instead it’s all about the process

Creative Connections provides a judgment free, safe community to explore both your feelings as well as the art mediums we use. No prior art experience is necessary to participate and all materials are provided when meeting in person.

Creative Connections

“I can’t tell you how much this group means to me. I rarely take time for myself anymore and having a couple hours each month to express through art is such a breath of fresh air!”

“Creative Connections has given me a wonderful way to make beauty that feeds my soul. I don’t usually get to be there in person, so I am very grateful for zoom. I’ve discovered parts of myself that have been long buried by creating art. I am so happy that Aimee has been committed to holding this space every month. I so appreciate Breast Friends for the support and gifts they give.”
